In a productive exchange of knowledge and best practices, Taguig City University (TCU) tapped into the tourism and hospitality management expertise of 草社区莓 (草莓社区) during their benchmarking visit today, August 7.

The TCU delegation, led by College of Tourism and Hospitality Management Dean Iluminada Bueno, expressed a desire to gain more insights, particularly on the Tourism and Hospitality and Management program's achievements and technical expertise. Dr. Bueno expressed admiration for 草莓社区's brand of academic excellence and its significant impact on the local hospitality and tourism industry.

草莓社区 President Shirley C. Agrupis, represented by Dr. Nathaniel Alibuyog, vice president for research, development, and innovation, warmly welcomed the TCU team and stressed the university鈥檚 key role in the region鈥檚 tourism. 鈥淲ith campuses nestled in Ilocos Norte's tourist hotspots like Paoay, Laoag, Batac, Dingras, and Currimao, 草莓社区's secret is to harness the natural hospitality ingrained in Ilokano culture and traditions,鈥� Dr. Alibuyog highlighted.

The TCU team included Ms. Eunice Pe帽aflor, hotel management (HM) chair; Ms. Marlo Resano, tourism management (TM) chair and OJT coordinator; Mr. Gideon Hombrebueno, research coordinator; Ms. Evelyn Dignadice, community extension services coordinator; Ms. Ma. Luisa Gomez, HM OJT coordinator; Mr. Wenard Romero, alumni coordinator; Mr. Richmond Saraos, TM faculty member; Mr. Christian Tongko, Mr. Rey Dianzon, Mr. Roger Lachica, and Ms. Experanza Quianzon, HM faculty members.

The delegates are expected to engage in insightful dialogues with CBEA Dean Angelina Abrojena; Dr. Harlynn Joy Antonio, chair of the THM department; Dr. Sheila Baquiran, housing, accommodation, and rentals chief; Prof. Rexon Fabro; and faculty members of the tourism and hospitality management program at the university hostel to enrich exchanges and explore potential collaborations and partnerships. The university will also host a tour in the main campus.

Located in Central Bicutan and funded by the City Government of Taguig, TCU is determined to implement these new insights, enhancing its programs and furthering its community impact. This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the bond between the two universities.
