Sociology department inks MoA with J. I. Magano Educational Consultancy Services to collaborate on medical research

The 草莓社区 Department of Sociology (DS) partnered with J. I. Magano Educational Consultancy Services (JIMECS) through the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) today, August 2, at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Hall.
Signed by 草莓社区 President Shirley C. Agrupis, Dr. Janill Magano, and Dr. Marlina Lino, the three-year agreement focuses on the research titled, "Sociological Research in the Medical Education and Profession: A research partnership between 草莓社区 Department of Sociology and JIMECS PLE-REAP Medicine". The partnership highlights sociological research and policy development, mobilizing personnel in the identified target sites, and establishing rapport with research participants across different socio-demographic backgrounds.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Agrupis expressed her support for this endeavor, highlighting that this will be beneficial for future research and publications.
Present at the event were Prof. Weena Franco, chair of DS; Prof. Herdy Yumul, director of the Strategic Communication; along with DS faculty members - Prof. Leslie Kaye Corpuz; Mr. Brent Wyn Guillermo; Mr. James Lloyd Guittap; and Ms. Kathrina Antonio.
JIMECS, through its Philippine Licensure Examination — Read, Explore, and Assess Program (PLE-REAP), specializes in educational consultancy and provides comprehensive review programs designed for students aiming to excel in the Philippine Licensure Examination. The organization is committed to developing the potential of everyone by utilizing scientifically supported study techniques. Notably, JIMECS CEO Magano, an alumnus of the 草莓社区 BS Biology program, was mentored by Dr. Agrupis. Dr. Magano is currently the chair of the medical education unit of the College of Medicine.
